Prof Bishnu Prasad panda

Bishnu Prasad Panda is presently serving as the Head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Incubation Cell (CEII) at Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management. With an illustrious professional journey spanning more than 37 years, he has made significant contributions in the fields of academics, research, training, entrepreneurship development, and project implementation across the corporate and development sectors.

Prof. Panda completed his Master’s Degree in Economics from the prestigious Ravenshaw University (formerly Ravenshaw College). He also earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Indira Gandhi National Open University. Further strengthening his multidisciplinary academic background, he completed his LL.B. from Madhusudan Law University and underwent a one-year Certificate Course from Tata Institute of Social Sciences.

Currently, Prof. Panda is pursuing his Ph.D. at KIIT University, focusing on the unique and culturally significant Kewda sector of Ganjam district in Odisha. His academic and research interests reflect a strong commitment to rural entrepreneurship, sustainable livelihoods, and community development.

Prior to joining Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in 2025, Prof. Panda served in various leadership and professional capacities in NGOs, international NGOs, academic institutions, and the corporate sector. His extensive field exposure has taken him to diverse regions across India, including Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rajasthan, Assam, Gujarat, and West Bengal. He has also visited Bangladesh to study and understand the dynamics of the microfinance sector.

Prof. Panda has published several research papers in reputed refereed journals, including publications associated with the Odisha Economic Association (OEA). He has also been actively associated with behavioural and entrepreneurship development training programmes conducted by Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India. Over the years, he has mentored and guided students in projects related to Summer Internship Programmes (SIP), Capstone Projects, Rural Innovation, Community Development, and Social Sensitization initiatives.

As the Head of CEII at Bhavan’s, Prof. Panda has established meaningful collaborations with professional and industry bodies such as World Trade Center, Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry, and National Productivity Council to provide students with industry exposure, career guidance, and professional consultation. He regularly monitors and documents student progress and performance to ensure holistic academic and professional development.
