Prof. Brajaraj Mohanty is Professor Emeritus in the area of Strategic Management at BCCM, Bhubaneswar.

Prof. Brajaraj Mohanty, was a topper in B. Com in 1964 and M.Com in 1966 from Utkal University. He did his Fellow Program in Management (FPM) in the year 1976 from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Professor Mohanty has more than 53 years of experience in teaching, research and industry. He worked as a Professor of Finance and Control at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta for 14 years, at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar for 15 years and 12 years as a full-time Professor at the Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar. Besides, he worked in Beirut, Lebanon as an Associate Professor in 1979-80 and as a Visiting Professor at Pittsburgh University, USA in 1988. He was also Dean (Academic) during 2006-07 at XIMB. For a period of three years he was a member of the All India Board of Management Studies of the AICTE of Govt. of India. During 2004-05 he was also the Chairman of PG Council of Utkal University.

Professor Mohanty has published 35 national and international papers, three books and has produced ten PhDs under his direct supervision. His papers have appeared in internationally well known journals such as Long Range Planning, Journal of Fuzzy Mathematics and International Journal of Communication and Information Technology.  He has served as editor of various professional management journals, namely, Decision of IIM, Kolkata: Sankalpa of Utkal University and Vilakshan – XIMB Journal of Management, Bhubaneswar.

He has been a Consultant to a number of Private sector & Public sector organizations including SAIL, Hindustan Copper and NCDC. In the Cooperative sector he has done consulting for Punjab Markfed and Assam Statfed.  Prof. Mohanty has drafted, as sole consultant, the White Paper on Restructuring of Public Enterprises of Orissa. He has been a member of the two High Power Committees, namely, Committee on MOU for public enterprises and Committee for Evaluation of Performance of public enterprises of the Government of Orissa.

Professor Mohanty has been an institution builder, who founded and later became Chairman of the Institute of Business Administration and Training ( Now called KIIT School of Management). He is also the Founder-Secretary of East Point Public School. He was the Consultant to set up the School of Management  under Ravenshaw University, Cuttack.
