Induction Program of Office Assistant Course
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan organized an induction program on 25th April 2024 for fresh entrants to the Office Assistant Course offered by Bhavan’s Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Training. The objective of this program was to acclimatize the students to the new environment and get them acquainted with the institution’s culture. The induction program comprised of inspiring talks from Col Sriprakash Pany, DG cum Vice Chairman, Col P K Sahu, Hon Secretary, Dr Sujata Managraj, Sr Director cum Dean Academics. The rationale for the induction of the program was to welcome the new students and give a bird’s eye view of the career prospects of the program. One day Round Table Conference
Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management(BCCM), Bhubaneswar with the collaboration of the Association of Indian Management Schools(AIMS) conducted a one-day round table conference on “Accreditation, Quality Assurance and Future of Business Education” at the Mayfair convention, Bhubaneswar on 10th June 2024. The conference witnessed discussions and deliberations from 20 different academic experts nationwide. The program was attended by 125 Deans, directors & faculty members from leading management schools of Odisha. Focusing on the accreditation standards & evaluation process, the conference provided the knowledge to face challenges experienced by the management institutions in the accreditation processes. BCCM, Bhubaneswar always aims to contribute to society by spreading quality education & knowledge.

Visitors from Bangalore Kendra
We had a delightful interaction with Mr N. Ramanuja, Chairman and V. Muralidhar, Vice Chairman from M P Birla Institute of Management, Bengaluru, this evening. During our meeting, we had productive discussions about the vision, ideas, and thoughts related to our institute. One of the key topics we discussed was the growing difficulty in admission and placement for PGDM institutes in recent times. Mr Ramanuja acknowledged this challenge and shared his insights on the matter. We also agreed to collaborate and facilitate an exchange of faculty and students between our institutions in November, which we believe will enhance the learning experience for everyone involved. Throughout our interaction, we found Mr Ramanuja to be extremely energetic, enthusiastic, and charismatic. His passion for education and the development of students was evident, and he displayed a special fondness for our Bhubaneswar Centre. We sincerely wish him good health and happiness as he continues to lead and inspire others in the field of management education.

Orientation for Computer Students
Bhavan’s Gandhi Institute of Computer Education & Information Technology (BGICEIT), Bhubaneswar organized an orientation program on December 10, 2024, for newly admitted students in the free MS Office computer training course. The primary objective of this orientation was to help students understand the department, the learning environment, and the teaching processes and familiarize them with the facilities available on campus.

Drupad Music
Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management hosted a remarkable Dhrupad musical session. The experience was deeply spiritual, as students explored the essence of Dhrupad music. They learned about the Tanpura and the concept of Nada Brahma (the sound of the universe), and how rhythms can help in calming the mind. The session also taught students the importance of patience and mindfulness, offering them a peaceful and enriching experience.

Bhavans Centre for Communication and Management hosted a two day HR workshop on 14th and 15th December 2024. Dr. Debabrata Dash provided valuable insights into organizational HR structures through practical lessons and engaging case studies. Annual Picnic
Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar organised an annual picnic for its PGDM students at Ramchandi Beach in Konark. The event aimed to provide a break from academic pressures and foster connections among students. Activities included games and antakshari, creating a lively atmosphere. A picnic lunch featuring local delicacies was served, and the day concluded with reflections on the experiences shared. Overall, the picnic successfully blended leisure and bonding, leaving students rejuvenated and with cherished memories.

To connect with Alumni residing in Kolkata, Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management, Bhubaneswar, opened the Alumni Association Kolkata Chapter on 21st December 2024. Despite their busy schedules, nine alumni from past batches attended the first-ever Alumni meet organised in Kolkata. It was a nostalgic moment for both faculty and students. The unwavering commitment of the faculty, combined with the heartfelt presence of alumni, truly transformed the event into an unforgettable experience. They cherished their moments with each other and remembered their time at Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management, Bhubaneswar.

Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management, Bhubaneswar’s Remarkable Educational Excursion to Army Air Defence College, Gopalpur Education extends beyond the limits of a classroom; it includes practical experiences that enhance students’ comprehension, ignite their aspirations, and cultivate a stronger bond with their surroundings. This belief is central to the values of Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar. We aim to offer our students comprehensive learning experiences beyond textbooks and conventional teaching techniques. Recently, we had the privilege of visiting the Army Air Defence College in Gopalpur. This educational excursion was enriching and left a lasting impact on our students and faculty.

On the first day of 2025, our Chairman, Lt Gen J.K. Mohanty, expressed his gratitude to all staff members for their hard work throughout 2024 and extended his wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year. His words not only acknowledged the dedication of the staff but also boosted their morale, fostering a sense of community and motivating them to tackle new challenges with enthusiasm. To add to the occasion, delicious snacks, including fruit cakes, pakoras, jalebis, and tea, were served at the end of the meeting, which contributed to the warmth and camaraderie of the event.

Interaction with Digital Brand Ambassador
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan in Bhubaneswar recently hosted Dr. Hari Krishan Maram, who interacted with the Executive Board Members on the college campus. Dr Maram, an alumnus of the Bhavan Bengaluru Kendra, holds multiple prestigious positions, including Digital Brand Ambassador, Chairman of Vision Digital India, Vice-Chancellor of Global Digital University in the USA, and President of the Lead India Foundation. During his visit, Dr Maram expressed a strong interest in establishing an AI-based digital university in Odisha, highlighting the initiative’s potential to enhance educational access and quality in the region. He is seeking approval from the state and central governments and has engaged in preliminary discussions with the Chief Minister of Odisha.

Bhavan Centre for Communication and Management organized an interactive talk on “Reel vs Reality” by Miss Sanchita Shetty. She highlighted the contrast between social media’s curated lives and authentic reality, emphasizing the importance of embracing authenticity. She also said about Kriya Yoga and meditation as tools for mental clarity and inner peace, leaving the audience inspired and reflective.

Emerging Leader Contest
Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management (BCCM) in Bhubaneswar hosted the “Emerging Leader Contest 2025” on January 29, 2025, starting at 9 a.m. The event took place on the BCCM campus in Kharavel Nagar. It allowed undergraduate students from over 20 prominent colleges and universities to demonstrate their management skills, compete with their peers, and engage with industry experts. More than 100 students participated, making the contest a dynamic platform for showcasing their talents.

Saraswati Puja
Saraswati Puja is a Hindu festival dedicated to Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, music, art, and learning. It is the arrival of spring where devotees worship the goddess by offering prayers, flowers, and fruits, and placing their books and other items related to education or creativity near the idol. Budget Challenge 2025
Bhavan’s Centre for Communication and Management hosted the Samrudhi Budget Challenge 2025, organized by the Finance Club, Samrudhi. Students actively presented and analyzed key aspects of the recent budget, highlighting its significance and future prospects. The event was graced by esteemed jury members Shri Umakant (Professor of Economics) and Dr. Girija Nandini (Centurion University). The students’ insightful presentations showcased their in-depth knowledge, making the event a grand success.

Pariksha pe Charcha
During the 8th Pariksha Pe Charcha on 10th February 2025, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi engaged with students at Sunder Nursery, New Delhi, discussing various important topics. He highlighted the UN’s declaration of 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millets’ and stressed the significance of nutrition, urging children to eat healthy foods and adopt good eating habits.

Lt. General JK Mohanty, Hon’ble Chairman of Bhavan Centre for Communication and Management, delivered an inspiring talk at SOA on “Love for Discipline”. Student Exchange Program
The students of Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar had a successful outing at the IIAM competition in Vizag, winning several prizes in sports and quizzes. A city tour was arranged for them, followed by lunch at IIAM. Special thanks were given to Pany Sir for organizing a visit to Hindustan Shipyard Limited, where students observed shipbuilding processes and a submarine, gaining valuable insights. After the visit, students enjoyed refreshments at the beach before returning for dinner. A Bhavan memento was presented to the Joint Director of IIAM as a token of appreciation.

Tribute to Padma Bhusan Ramakanta Ratha
We mourn the loss of Padma Bhushan Ramakant Rath, a literary giant whose contributions to Odia literature are immeasurable. As a distinguished associate member, he left a lasting impact on our institution. A renowned poet, novelist, and essayist, Rath’s works showcased his mastery of language and profound understanding of human experience. We remember his association with great fondness and offer condolences to his family, friends, and fans. May his remarkable work continue to inspire us, and may his memory be a blessing. Rest in peace, Padma Bhushan Ramakant Rath. Your words will live on forever.

Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar held a one-day seminar titled “Careers in Data Science & Generative AI” on April 2, 2025, at its premises. The event featured Mr. Manjil Choudhary and Mr. Ranjan Kumar Das as guest speakers. Students greatly benefited from the sessions and learned about how these concepts are applied in the real world. Furthermore, they gained insights into how data scientists can effectively leverage generative AI for tasks such as data generation, preparation, querying, and augmentation, ultimately leading to a successful career in the field.

Annual Day
The “Selebration,” an annual day event at Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar, took place on April 4, 2025, and was filled with a spirit of joy and unity. The official proceedings began with the lamp lighting, which was succeeded by singing Bhavan’s anthem. The dean, Dr. Sujata Mangaraj, warmly welcomed everyone present and shared the Annual report, which highlighted the school’s achievements, honors, events, celebrations, and significant activities. The Chairman, Lt. Gen. J K Mohanty, PVSM, UYSM, SM, VSM, honored the Chief Guest, Mr. Soubhagya Kumar Tripathy, AVP State Head of Aditya Birla Group, Hindalco Industries Ltd., Odisha, in the company of other esteemed dignitaries from the institute. The Chief Guest spoke to the students, encouraging them to prepare for corporate roles. Together with the dignitaries, the Chief Guest handed out medals and certificates to students for various annual events organised by the college. The following cultural show was dazzling with colourful costumes, harmonious music, lively dances, and significant theatrical performances. Those who attended will always cherish the memories of this event

Walkathon
The students of PGDM at Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar took part in a 4 KM Walkathon organized by the Rotary Club Bhubaneswar on the morning of April 26, 2025. The purpose of the event was to promote awareness regarding road safety and to encourage avoiding unnecessary honking near schools and hospitals, as it can lead to significant noise pollution. This noise can disturb both students and patients and may even result in health complications for those with sensitivities. Furthermore, excessive honking can create a stressful atmosphere for everyone in the vicinity.

On May 7, 2025, India held a nationwide civil defence drill in response to the escalating geopolitical situation and heightened security concerns. As part of this initiative, Colonel Pradeep Kumar Pattanayak from Bhavan’s Centre for Communication & Management in Bhubaneswar educated students and staff on emergency preparedness and the appropriate responses to various scenarios. This effort aims to enhance awareness and readiness for potential emergencies.
